Recruit
Safety & Fundamentals

Every man begins here. The Recruit level builds the foundation for all tactical skill. You'll learn proper stance, grip, trigger control, and sight picture — mastering safe handling and the core mechanics of precision. This stage demands humility, focus, and discipline.

Objective: Establish complete command of safety and weapon fundamentals. Qualifier: Demonstrate proper technique and safe handling for coach sign-off.

  • Closed-toe shoes, hat, and comfortable range attire
Provided: Targets, safety supervision, and range instruction.
Defender
Control, Accuracy & Composure Under Pressure

The Defender level transitions you from basic proficiency to active performance. You'll train on reloads, malfunction drills, and smooth draw execution — refining every movement for speed and reliability. The goal is consistency under stress and accuracy without hesitation.

Objective: Build precision and stability through repetition and control. Qualifier: Pass the untimed accuracy and fundamentals qualifier.

Guardian
Tactical Movement & Efficiency Under Stress

Guardians operate with control and composure while moving. You'll train dynamic shooting positions, movement between cover, timed drills, and non-dominant hand engagement. Every rep builds mental focus and physical control.

Objective: Execute disciplined movement and precision under time constraints. Qualifier: Pass the timed accuracy and movement drill under instructor evaluation.

Commander
Advanced Integration & Tactical Leadership

Commanders set the standard. This level integrates pistol and rifle platforms, advanced transitions, and scenario-based exercises that demand awareness, judgment, and leadership under pressure. It's about mastery — of skill, mindset, and control.

Objective: Demonstrate tactical proficiency and decision-making in high-stress drills. Qualifier: Complete full integration exercises meeting Fireside's accuracy, time, and safety benchmarks.

Okeechobee Shooting Sports, 7055 48th St NE, Okeechobee, FL 34972. Outdoor tactical range with shade areas, tables, and chairs. Range Safety Officers and Fireside Coaches present at all times.

What's Provided

Bottled water, lunch, dinner, T-shirt, targets, safety supervision, and range instruction.

What to Bring

Hat, pants, close-toed shoes, sunscreen, eye and ear protection, your firearm (9mm preferred), ammunition (200-350 rounds depending on level), gun belt, pistol holster, and magazine holders. No firearm? You can rent one at the venue or share with a friend.

A forged warrior whose life was a living testament to brotherhood, faith, and standing for what is righteous and true.

Keith Gibbs was not a man who stood still. He faced his own battles but chose to Stand for the Lord and Stand for his brothers. His life was a living testament to Ephesians 6:10, inspiring men to put on the full armor of God and fight for what is righteous and true.

Keith saw the battle in every man's heart. A longing for a battle to fight, an adventure to live, and a beauty to rescue. He was a sentinel for the Fireside vision, and his teachings inspired hundreds of men to build their own ministries and bands of brothers.

The week before his passing, a group of brothers had the opportunity to pray with Keith. He texted back: "I was moved with emotion, overwhelmed by the prayers of faith from the men of God I call my brothers. I receive healing in Jesus' name and I will believe and not doubt."

In that short message, Keith summed up his legacy. Every word from Keith was one of encouragement, strength, endearment, and God's love. He affirmed men, challenged them, and helped them open their eyes to God's truth.

His legacy is not in the words he spoke, but in the men he called to action. It lives on in every man who chooses to STAND, lead with honor, and stand for his brothers.

Everything you need to know before your first event.

Fireside events are for men 18 and older. Attendees under 21 must be accompanied by their legal guardian. No experience required. All skill levels welcome.
Not at all. Many of our attendees are first-time shooters. Fireside works with top-level firearms trainers to ensure the highest level of safety is observed and enforced at all times.
No. Firearms can be rented from our host venue, or you can share with a friend. We recommend a 9mm pistol for best results at your first event.
Hat, long pants, close-toed shoes, sunscreen, eye and ear protection, firearm (9mm preferred), ammunition (200-350 rounds depending on level), holster, and a beach chair for the bonfire. We provide food, water, a T-shirt, targets, and safety supervision.
